How it works
How it works
Compare for yourself first. Talk to a person only if you want to.
This site is built so you can do most of the comparing on your own. When you want a second opinion on your situation, a real person is a minute away. Here's how the two fit together.
- 1
1. Compare the loan types
Use the loan type pages and the comparison tool to see which kinds of finance fit your purpose, timing, security and paperwork. It's free and you don't need to give us any details.
- 2
2. Tell us about the business (about a minute)
If you'd like help, the short form asks what the money is for, roughly how much, and a few questions about the business and any property. No credit check to enquire.
- 3
3. A real person reads it and calls
Someone who knows business lending looks at your answers, checks the shortlist against your situation and rings you to fill in the gaps.
- 4
4. Options in dollars, side by side
You get the realistic options with the total cost in dollars, the repayment and the conditions that matter, so you can compare them properly.
- 5
5. Paperwork only when you say go
If you decide to proceed, we tell you exactly what's needed, usually bank statements, ID and details of the purchase or debt, and help you through to settlement.
How we compare loan types
Every loan type on the site is described using the same five measures: size, speed, security, paperwork and repayments. The comparison tool scores each type against your answers using those same measures, and the loan offer comparer turns real offers into total cost in dollars. The tools run in your browser and don't send your answers anywhere.
What we don't do
- We don't publish interest rates or "from" figures, because they're rarely what a real business is offered.
- We don't rank lenders by who pays the most.
- We don't pass your details around a panel of lenders.
Common questions
Do I have to enquire to use the comparisons?
No. Every page, guide and tool on the site is free to use without giving any details. Enquire only if you'd like a person to look at your situation.
Does enquiring affect my credit score?
No. There's no credit check when you first enquire. A check is only discussed once you've chosen to go ahead with a specific option.
Will my details be sent to lots of lenders?
No. One person works on your enquiry. Your details aren't sprayed across a list of lenders, so you won't be chased by people you've never heard of.
How do you decide which option to suggest?
On fit: the purpose, how quickly you need it, the security available, your paperwork and credit history, and what the repayments do to cash flow. Then on total cost in dollars.
Why do you ask so many questions on the form?
So the first option we bring you is one that can actually be approved. Accurate answers about turnover, debts and property save a second round of calls.
Ready for a person to take a look? Start your enquiry and fill in the form as accurately as you can.
